I.  MODEL 2000 SETUP INSTRUCTIONS


NOTES:  It is NOT NECESSARY to run the Setup program, unless
	specific parameters need to be changed.  The Setup is
	already specified at the factory.  Altering certain 
	parameters require hardware changes as well.  If there
	are any questions, please contact QCM RESEARCH before 
	making any changes.

	The "M2-SETUP Program" should be running before 
	the Model 2000 controller is powered on.


A. Run M2-SETUP.EXE by typing one of the following:

	For COM 1 and Degrees in Celsius:  M2-setup 1 c
	For COM 2 and Degrees in Celsius:  M2-setup 2 c

	For COM 1 and Degrees in Kelvin:  M2-setup 1 k
	For COM 2 and Degrees in Kelvin:  M2-setup 2 k


B. The program will indicate "Unit Not Responding ... Try Again (Y/N) ?"

	Turn on the Model 2000 Controller, then press Y.


C. The following 3 Main Menus control the settings of the M2000:

      1 - General Setup Parameters:

	  1 - Unit Name               : Name listed on controller display
	  2 - Maximum Temperature     : Max. Temp. allowed by the controller
	  3 - Line Terminator         : Character sent to host computer 
	  4 - Temperature Coefficients: Coefficients stored for temp sensors

      2 - Channel Specifications

	  1 - Modify Current Specifications: "DO NOT CHANGE HEATER VOLTAGES!"
					     Users can change Labels, T-Rate,
					     or Thermal Constants only.

	  2 - New Specifications: USERS SHOULD NOT ENTER NEW SPECIFICATIONS
				  UNLESS INSTRUCTED BY QCM RESEARCH.

      3 - Save Setup Data to File

	  This Menu item, only saves the configuration to a text file,
	  when the program is exited, the configuration is stored in
	  the Model 2000 memory, whether you save it to a file or not.


      0 - Quit
	  
	  To exit the program press 0, then turn the Model 2000 Off.

II.  MODEL 2000 DOS PROGRAM : M2000.EXE


A. Copy M2000.EXE and M2000.CFG to your computer.


B. The M2000 program uses a configuration file that determines the following:

	1. Com Port
	2. Temp Scale
	3. File Format
	4. Mass Parameters
	5. Value Resolution
	6. Save Commands and Responses

  This file sets parameters for the program, not the Model 2000 Controller.

  To run the Configuration File type:  M2000 /CFG


C.  Running the M2000 program:

	1.  The Model 2000 Controller should be OFF.

	2.  Type M2000 /RUN

	3.  The program will display: 
	    "Unit Not Responding ... Try Again (Y/N) ?"

	4.  Turn the Model 2000 ON.

	5.  Press Y.


D.  Exiting the Program

      Always exit the program before turning Off the Model 2000.

	1.  Press F10 and select Y.
